Very belated post about a lively afternoon with Ballet Cymru associate dancers Gwen, Beth and Lily last year - beautiful dancers who began the session with a passage of familiar choreography they'd learned with the company, though moving on to find poses through a number of very expressive, gestural improvisations, including solos, duets and group pieces. Great to work with such a thoughtful and creative trio.
My studio practice and routine has been badly disrupted over the past few months, and I’ve made far less progress on this project than I’d hoped to. However, I'm happy to have made this series of little sketches of Lily using an old, familiar four-colour palette I’d not used for years, and am hoping to develop things further soon.
Many thanks to the dancers!
