Isaac Lewis

Great to work with dancer Isaac Lewis, continuing to use improvisation in exploring interactions between the figure and geometric forms, shadows, etc, and this time introducing a more vibrant backdrop.

These sessions often walk a fine line between seriousness and playfulness, where ideas and creativity might emerge, drawing on both the talent, training and experience of the dancers I’m working with and my own experience and sensibilities as a painter. It’s a great way to work.

A few pictures here on paper, panel and canvas.

Many thanks to Isaac. For more information about his practice, please see here.
