Life drawing remains a central part of my practice, and although I regularly tell myself I ought to experiment with chalk, pastels and other materials, I keep reaching for willow charcoal whenever I have the opportunity to draw.
Sketches here were made over the past year or so during my fortnightly Sunday Life Drawing sessions, and feature marvellous models Fay, Will, Gaia, Sofia, Indigo and Alma holding poses of around two minutes to half an hour. Life models bring their own creativity to sessions, and, as can be seen, are increasing involving the plinths, webbing and hoops that we've been experimenting with in other sessions, so there's a kind of cross pollination going on between these two areas areas of my work, which I really like.
