Thoroughly enjoyed this year’s portraiture workshop at Machynlleth Comedy Festival, during which a dozen artists sketched extraordinary comedian/clown Elf Lyons in an array of poses – some rather dynamic, reflecting the physicality of the sitter and often making the session as much about figure drawing as portraiture.
We had a wide range of experience among the group, from workshop regulars to others who hadn’t drawn since they’d been at school, and as ever a lot of beautiful work was created – including from our youngest ever participant, thirteen-year-old Ruby (drawing, bottom left).
