Framing a selection of smaller works, preparation for the first of my Painting Dance exhibitions is moving on apace.
Made during my ongoing residency with Ballet Cymru and supported by Arts Council of Wales, the shows will feature paintings and drawings inspired by the company’s dancers and choreographers since December 2018, involving pieces from their pre-professionals’ programme, the company’s July 2019 summer school, and their current touring programme, including Divided We Stand, Celtic Concerto, and Romeo a Juliet.
Exhibition dates are:
September 15th to October 9th – Ffin y Parc Gallery, Llanrwst. Audio tours on September 28th.
November 30th to Jan 5th – Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. Audio tours and figure drawing workshops TBA.
There’s still a great deal to be done and many paintings to be made, but I’m happy that the first of the exhibitions is definitely taking shape.
