Audio descriptions of twelve lockdown pictures

Looking to improve the accessibility of my work among people with visual impairments, I'm very pleased to present audio descriptions of twelve pictures made with current and former Ballet Cymru dancers during the summer and autumn of 2020.

Many thanks to Alastair Sill of Word of Mouth, who selected the pictures and wrote and produced the audio, and to Ann Louise Wall, whose additional commentary presents insights into the project from the perspective of a collaborating dancer. The pictures range from the first experimental drawings made through Zoom in the early days of lockdown, to the little panel paintings made through video sharing, which began the series I continue to work on.

This work builds on Alastair's experience of producing an audio tour of my exhibition Painting Dance at Wales Millennium Centre in 2019, though with the significant difference that it needed to be presented as a virtual rather than physical experience. We welcome feedback, particularly suggestions as to how we may improve presentations such as this in the future.

With thanks to Arts Council Wales for their support through the National Lottery Fund.
