Tudor plays the electric cello in the Cardiff dance band Inc.a, and sat for a small, monochrome painting in 2013. After getting new armour for stage performances in 2016, returned to sit for a more ambitious picture.
The landscape is punningly borrowed from the Fifteenth Century Italian painter Paolo Uccello (The Adoration of the Magi, National Gallery, London) and suggested itself at an early stage in the process.
