A fun side-project in 2017/18 was creating a series of literary portraits - initially to accompany writer and performer Terry Victor's production Well Thumbed at the 2018 Edinburgh Festival, though subsequently expanded and exhibited as A Thousand Words at Waterstones, Bloomsbury in 2019. Made from a range of historical sources, the series now totals thirty-nine pictures, including novelists, poets, essayists, and playwrights. Here is a selection.
